About Our Baltic Amber

What is Baltic amber?

Baltic amber is fossilized tree resin formed over 44 million years ago in the ancient forests of Northern Europe. It is one of the most historically significant and beautiful natural gemstones in the world, prized for its warm golden tones, organic warmth, and cultural importance across Europe, Turkey, and the Middle East.

What types of amber do you sell?

At Tetibel, we carefully select two types of genuine Baltic amber:

Natural Baltic amber — unprocessed, each piece unique in color and character
Certified pressed amber — used primarily in our rosary (misbaha) collections; made from genuine Baltic amber fragments that are heat-pressed together. It is still 100% real Baltic amber, laboratory tested and certified as succinite.

We do not sell synthetic amber, copal, or imitation resin.

How is pressed amber different from natural amber?

Both are genuine Baltic amber. Natural amber is a single unprocessed stone, while pressed amber is made by fusing authentic Baltic amber pieces under heat and pressure — no synthetic materials are added. Pressed amber allows for more uniform bead sizes, making it ideal for rosaries and prayer beads.

Are your pieces certified?

Yes. Our amber rosaries are laboratory tested and certified as Baltic amber (succinite). Certificates are available upon request.

Why do pieces vary in color and shape?

Natural amber comes in a wide range of shades — from pale milky butterscotch to deep cherry red and cognac. These variations are a hallmark of genuine Baltic amber, not a defect. No two natural pieces are exactly alike.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship?

We ship worldwide — to Germany, across the EU, and internationally including Turkey, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

How long does delivery take?

Germany: 20–30 working days
EU & International: 25–30 working days

Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by customs clearance or local postal conditions. Deliveries do not occur on Sundays or public holidays.

What are the shipping costs?

Germany: €4.99 (free on orders over €100)
EU & International: €14.99 (free on orders over €300)

Will I pay customs duties or import taxes?

Orders shipped outside the EU may be subject to customs duties or import taxes imposed by your country. These are the responsibility of the recipient. We recommend checking with your local customs office before ordering.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

You have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date you receive your order, with no reason required. Items must be returned in their original condition. Please see our full Refund Policy for details.

Who pays for return shipping?

The customer bears the cost of return shipping.

Can I return a custom or personalized item?

No — custom-made pieces cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or defective.

Can I test the amber to verify authenticity?

Please use only non-destructive methods. Destructive tests (scratching, burning, sanding, chemical testing) may damage the piece and result in a deduction from your refund for loss of value.

How do I return an item from outside the EU?

Non-EU returns must be declared as "RETURNED GOODS – NO COMMERCIAL VALUE" with your order number and name. Our EORI number is DE790886974116898. Return address: Tetiana Robel, Nicolaistraße 2B, 01307 Dresden, Germany.

Yes. All transactions are processed through encrypted, secure payment gateways.

Jewelry Care

How do I care for my amber jewelry?

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight — it can cause fading
Keep away from perfumes, hairsprays, and harsh chemicals
Remove before swimming, bathing, or exercising
Clean with a soft dry cloth; if needed, slightly damp — then dry immediately
Store in a soft pouch, away from harder gemstones

Can amber get scratched?

Yes. Amber is relatively soft (2–2.5 on the Mohs scale). Store pieces separately and handle with care.

My amber looks cloudy — is that normal?

Yes. Milky or "butterscotch" amber is a natural variety of Baltic amber. If your piece has dulled over time, gently buff with a soft cloth or a tiny drop of olive oil to restore its luster.
